Keep up to date with news about SDARI, the nation, and issues of skepticism and rational thinking worldwide.

Emily Koch of All-Saints Episcopal School was the fifth recipient of the SDARI award at the Greater San Diego Science and Engineering Fair. Her project, "Garlic and Bacterial Inhibition," won an overall First Place, American Women in Science, San Diego Nutrition Council, Sigma Xi, Biomedical Research Institute of America, as well as a recommendation to attend the state science fair. The spring issue of the SDARI newsletter did not recognize her as a winner.

Keith Taylor, former SDARI President and current Program Director, had the honor of seeing one of his articles in print. The San Diego Union-Tribune published his editorial "Sex and Common Sense: Can They Be Reconciled?" in the June 27, 2002 Opinion section of the South Bay edition of the newspaper. The piece discusses the abortion policies of American military hospitals in the United States and abroad.

Please send good vibes across the ether to the recently founded Skeptics of Las Vegas (SOLV), if your conscience as a rational thinker allows it. Or, visit them at
